The Story of my Studio

Since childhood I have always had a studio. Sometimes it was a big space, and at other times it was just a table full of art supplies. Having a space to create is a necessity when you are a creative person.

I got lucky in this life and was able to built the studio of my dreams. I have designed it to have lots of light from several windows and skylights. However, over the years I have accumulated so many art supplies and piles of recybale materials that at some point it started to feel suffocating. Paint and glues stained the floor. I have decided to do a compete make over of the space.

I started by piling up everything on the floor. It was overwhelming, to say the least, but over many days I have paired down and chosen only the most useful items and organized them in boxes ready to go back on the shelves.

Painting the floor was the biggest task. It involved sanding the existing wooden floor, and applying several coats of paint. The design was done by using a stencil, with three different shades of yellow and light blue. It took almost a month to complete, but the effort was well worth it. The transformation of the space was amazing, and instead of a stained floor I have a tile like colorful floor that is so fun to walk on!
